Mobius cameras are cheap. They can deliver 720p@60FPS, or 1080p@30FPS. The main problem for using them to shoot 360 or 3D video is that there is no way to simultaneously trigger the record button. There is no remote control like in goPro. The cameras also have a rolling shutter problem, so they need to be kept in one place or at least stabilized with a gimbal. For every need there has to be a solution. Read on if you want to learn more on how this worked out.

Star Wars 360 making of video

Recently I was able to see in action how a 360 movie is shot. The crew had 4 different 360 rigs. 6xHero4 Sessions rigged together using a custom 3D printed holder. Thanks to CoOperate Orchestra  and a bunch of passionate Star Wars fans the shoot was directed in with 360 video in mind. Everytime the director had to tell people what to do and hide from the camera’s view.  Darth Vader (maestro), Storm Troopers and many other cool characters that showed up on set. The 360 video is produced by VMG ad agency .
See the making of below:

The 360 footage is currently in post production and link will be posted here anytime soon. Stay Tuned!
